Grace Space

Each Sunday morning, middle and high schoolers share fellowship together at Grace Space. We want Grace Space to be a place of consistent care and faith-building, in a fun and relaxed environment. Over donuts and drinks, we check in with each other and engage in conversation about our lives, the world, and how we can be givers and receivers of Grace.

Because we are all belong to the body of Christ, and because we all have gifts to share, an important part of our vision is helping students “plug in” to various ministries in the church community—like serving communion, helping in Sunday school, baking treats for fellowship, or playing music during the worship service. Each student will have the opportunity to test drive a variety of ministries throughout the year, to see where they find the best fit.

Youth Group:

High School and Middle School

1st and 3rd Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30

Location – Bend Church (680 NW Bond St.)

Two Wednesdays a month we meet together with the youth and leaders from Nativity Lutheran and Bend Church for dinner, fellowship, and fun, as we grow together in Grace.

After sharing a meal, we play games and break into small groups by age, finishing by uniting around the Christ Candle for a benediction.

Our goal is for students to feel that youth group is a place to have fun, be themselves, ask authentic questions, and build positive relationships (with their peers and elders). As we live our weekly routines, we want to genuinely share the love and grace of Christ with those we meet.

Confirmation:

Time: Sundays, after the 9:30 am worship service (approximately 10:30)

Martin Luther saw confirmation as an opportunity to have families learn the faith together. With that in mind, our confirmation program seeks to involve whole families in the discovering of the foundations of our faith in an open-discussion environment.

We meet over a meal and enjoy lively discussions (which often include video pop culture references!) and cover five main teaching points: Baptism, Communion, The Lord’s Prayer, The Apostles Creed, and The Ten Commandments.

We also head with students to camp Lutherwood each summer for a week of fun, relationship building, and a chance to dive deeper into conversations surrounding our faith.

The content is geared for 6th grade (ish!) and up, however, any families who wish to participate are more than welcome to participate.
